Chapter 10 Flood analysis lab (10 pts)
Project repo https://github.com/tpcovino/lab_6_flood_analysis
In this lab we will calculate the exceedence probabilties for high flows at the Corwin Springs gage on the Yellowstone. We will calculate the exceedence probabilities using the Gringorten plotting position and we will fit a Gumbel distribution to the data. The Gumbel is an extreme value distribution, so we will essentially fit a model to the data to calculate the probability of any flow or, conversely, the flow at any given probability. The lab will follow this CUAHSI module https://serc.carleton.edu/hydromodules/steps/166250.html

The deliverable for this lab is to complete a flood frequency analysis and determine the probability of the June 2022 flood. Then you will read a USGS flyer about floods and provide your expert opinion to your bosses at USGS and the National Flood Insurance Program.
